At the ancient crossroad near the milestone marking half a league from Oviedo, the Fountain Of The Four Spouts stands as a testament to thoughtful 18th-century architecture. Designed by Mr. Manuel Reguera in 1790, this historical attraction once served as a vital stop for travelers and their horses journeying along the highway to Castile. Crafted from limestone, the fountain and its accompanying sinks offered much-needed refreshment and cleanliness. Its water, still potable today, flows from the springs of Naranco, ensuring the site's continuous use. With a careful restoration by the Oviedo City Council in 1991, the fountain retains its charm and function, remaining an emblematic landmark in the city.
