We had a lovely tea in Blacklock Manchester.
Started with the pigs head on toast. All I can say is OH. MY. GOD.
Salty, rich, sumptuous, flavour-packed... It was Chefs kiss!
We shared that but also tried the 3 x pre-chop bites (a bargain at £1.50 each)... they are like two bite mini Hors D'oeuvres.
The variations were:
☆ Potted meat and Kimchi (not for us, the Kimchi was over-fermented to our tastes - but that's just personal preference!)
☆ Cheese and Pickle (Tasty but not really surprising or memorable)
☆ Egg and Anchovy (Sublime! Memorable! Could have eaten 10 of them!)
Then my husband had the Steak and Stout pie which was stunning!
I had a lamb cutlet and a lamb t-bone chop, both were really well cooked and I especially loved the t-bone chop for that "lamb fat on a bbq" taste
We shared Beef dripping chips, baby gem sautéed in Anchovy oil (surprisingly moreish!), a brocoli and walnut salad (wouldn't order again, too creamy and not enough broccoli nuttiness for us!) And garlic bone marrow. (Super tasty with the garlic, but unfortunately a tad to jellied for me... prefer mine roasted so the fat turns more solid)
Then, the absolute MOTHER of a white chocolate and berry cheesecake finished me off!
I would eat that every day if I could!! And I am not really a "dessert" girl... more of an espresso martini or affogato type!
Prices of food and drink are all really reasonable for central Manchester. Venue is lovely, service and staff were great.
