Temple of Debod in Madrid
Über
The Temple of Debod was literally relocated to the heart of Spain from Egypt, brick by brick. Today, it stands as the most unusual attraction in Madrid, fascinating tourists with its unique origin.
If you are expecting to see a grand and majestic shrine, comparable to or even surpassing the size of the Egyptian pyramids, you might be disappointed. The Temple of Debod is a petite and neat structure dedicated to the goddess Isis, adorned with ancient wall drawings and imbued with an indescribable atmosphere of tranquility. Entry to the building is free, but you'll have to wait in line to go up to the second floor-the staircase is so narrow that it can only accommodate one person at a time, going up or down.
