Had a chance to visit the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion recently since I've heard a couple of good reviews on it from people I know, but unfortunately in the end no one from our group found it great.
Let’s start from the meals. I can definitely say that they were interesting, but they mostly were a mixed bag, or just okay, no one was blown away by them. There were several actually tasty dishes, but when you only have a couple of 5* dishes out of 13, it doesn't relay anything exciting. I would probably say that the most dishes were 4* with personal highlights of pasta and crudo courses, but antipasti and desserts being just meh.
What soured the experience was the end of it when the waiter couldn't keep their face straight when we asked to remove the 15% service charge from the bill. As soon as that request happened, they've turned from cheerful and chatty to full poker face bordering with disappointment, to the point that they didn't even acknowledge that we asked to add a tip to the bill, albeit lower than 15% and just basically threw the updated bill at us whilst holding the reader at our face. Then no one spoke to us ever since and didn't even say bye when we left, just a blank stare whilst getting the door from me. This instant flip from cheerful to hostile because they weren't happy with a tip shouldn't happen. I just feel like staff in such restaurants should handle these things a tad better.
