The setting at les Trois Verres is very pleasant, and their wine list has a great selection, and a highlight of the experience. The service was attentive and welcoming, but I had some difficulty understanding the person who was serving us, which made communication a bit challenging. Maybe it was their first day and were nervous which would make sense.
What surprised me most was how quickly the food arrived, barely 30 seconds after we ordered. While I understand that speedy service is appreciated for those on the go, in a gastronomic setting I would have expected dishes to be freshly cooked rather than pre-prepared under heat lamps. Unfortunately, this showed in the execution: the mashed potatoes were lukewarm, and the duck was on the tough side.
It wasn’t a bad experience in any way, but for a restaurant that positions itself as gastronomic, I would have hoped for more attention to detail in the food. With such a nice setting, a great wine selection, and genuinely attentive staff, there’s a solid foundation here, it just needs more consistency on the culinary side to fully live up to its potential. I'll give it another try, this time for dinner and then revise my review there after if needed.
