The Royal Greenhouses have long been considered one of the most visited attractions in the Belgian capital. They are located on the grounds of the Royal Residence Laeken in special greenhouses that allow flowers to grow year-round.

It's not that the plants in the greenhouse are rare or endangered species. The "highlight" of this place is the special care given to the surrounding flora, resulting in even the most common azaleas and lilies transforming into a precious specimen that blooms once in a century. The Royal Greenhouses are open to tourists for only three weeks a year in spring, with several days specifically set aside for visitors with limited mobility.

Si vous avez l’occasion allez-y ça vaut la peine. Je trouve juste décevant le fait qu’on doive payer son entrée sachant qu’on paie déjà nos taxes pour entretenir le palais royale. Un système pour un tarif préférentiel pour les résidents serait pertinent. Penser a faire payer l’entrée qu’aux non résidents par exemple. Il y a le café de l’orangerie où vous pouvez prendre de quoi boire et grignoter. Il y a aussi un shop pour acheter des fleurs et plantes, graines et cartes postales

Visiting the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken in Brussels was like stepping into a fairytale. Open to the public only a few weeks each spring, it’s a rare gem bursting with exotic flowers, towering palms, and elegant glass architecture. The Winter Garden, with its massive domed ceiling, absolutely took my breath away. Walking through the lush pathways, I felt transported to another era—where royalty once hosted lavish receptions. The scents, colors, and peaceful ambiance make it a dream for plant lovers and photographers. It's well worth planning your trip around. Don't miss the Orangery for a relaxing break afterward. A magical experience!

A must see if you are in Brussels and the Greenhouses happen to be open. They only open for about 3 weeks every year and you have to pre book your tickets well in advance. Beware that as soon as the online tickets become available, they are sold out in a matter of a few days. The Greenhouses are a marvel.
