The Santa Maria del Pi Cathedral has witnessed several earthquakes, fires, and one Civil War, which overshadowed all previous calamities with its destructive power. By the way, there's a small "talking" secret hidden in the sanctuary's name-the part "pi," which translates to "pine" in Spanish, is visualized on the tympanum above the main entrance, where the Virgin Mary is depicted standing between two pine trees. The church is still active, and besides tourists, you can often see parishioners here.

広場も小さめの教会もバルセロナお気に入りの場所の一つです。Piは松の木のことだと思うので、松の木の広場、松の木の聖マリア教会、ということになるのかな？　中に入ったことまでは無いのですが、建築的にもなんだか可愛くて好きな教会です。広場では、市などが出ていることがあり、写真を撮った日にはちょうど市が出ていました。特に何をするということでもないのですが、お散歩したり、友人と広場でおしゃべりしたり、などによい場所だと思います。

La Basílica de Santa Maria del Pi et transporta directament a l’Edat Mitjana des de la plaça ombrejada on s’alça. L’entrada et rep amb els seus finestrals gòtics de colors intensos que omplen l’interior d’una llum màgica, perfecta per aturar-te un moment i contemplar els detalls de les voltes apuntades i els capitells esculpits. M’agrada asseure’m a la part posterior, on es fan sentir les harmonies dels orgues durant les misses i, si tens sort, pots coincidir amb algun recital de música antiga. Fora, el Pati dels Tarongers, amb els seus tarongers i bancs de pedra, és un racó tranquil per fer-te una foto o simplement gaudir de la calma abans de seguir el teu passeig pel Gòtic. És un petit tresor que no et pots perdre!

Very beautiful basilica in the heart of the city. Definitely recommend to drop by and even look at it in passing on a tour of the city. The ticket prices are relatively expensive just to see inside but admittedly it’s really beautiful and not exactly something you might see everyday. Not very busy for an architectural marvel so ideal for people looking to explore gothic vibes without the madness of the cathedral or similar
