I really tried. I really tried to like this place but unfortunately it just missed for me every single time and I’ve tried everything on the menu by now besides the pre-order cakes. Firstly the loafs and buns - don’t get me wrong, I’m sure its high quality and whatnot but all the produce just doesn’t taste good. You pay double for the gluten free label. It doesn’t make sense! Then the options are so limited, too! & the bakery has been around! It’s popular. So why is it still not offering modern options and well, options? Or even interesting variants of sandwiches? Then the sweet buns…taste like stale “healthy” buns ur grandma would bake and you would need to force down with heavily sugared tee. Why? We are in Copenhagen. Every single bakery manages to have at least one delicious desert bun available. But here you find 0! Then the little cakes and Danish traditional treats - if you go before closing time on a Sunday to Starbucks and get the last piece of baked goods which has been laying around stale and already on its way to the trash - that’s what ur getting. Again, why? Gluten free can be so delicious! Whats going on here? Then lastly the ultra desert stuff and seasonal goods - they always look so good! It’s also so wonderful imagining to actually go to a bakery and get traditional Danish treats and not missing out on this large bulk of the domestic culture! But here’s the catch - it stops at “imagining”. The cakes taste dull, flavourless and lack crunch. You get more satisfaction by just keeping it for show in ur kitchen because I promise the imagination tastes better than these cakes ever do! Again, whyyy? Lastly to the atmosphere - again, it is a small store. After being a while around, why? It’s obvious always ultra crowded and there is mostly a long line. Ordering anything is super stressful and there is even less space than at the old Juno location. It’s also cold inside and the decor is not decorating. It’s as stale as the buns! Over so many years, I’ve tried it all and I’m very disappointed that this is the only gluten free bakery Copenhagen has to offer. A city where on every corner a new bakery opens and yet stays closed for those who cannot digest gluten. I’m very sad making this post and would encourage anyone to rather grab a cook book themselves then spend their krona at H.U.G
