Toller Ort voller Geschichte, klettert man die Treppen hoch, hat man eine tolle Aussicht auf Kopenhagen, Schweden und die Oeresund Brücke; schade hat es überall Abfall und Zigarettenstummeln.

Trekroner fort is a sea fort close to the Copenhagen harbour. It was constructed in the year 1787. The fort was an important part of the Danish line of defense during several wars and had a lot of military significance. Currently it looks like an abandoned building. Visited it as part of a canal tour.

Trekroner, che significa “Fortezza delle Tre Corone”, è una storica fortezza marittima situata all’ingresso del porto di Copenaghen. La sua origine risale al 1713, quando tre vecchie navi da guerra furono affondate per formare la base di una batteria difensiva. Una delle navi si chiamava Trekroner, e il forte prese da essa il nome. L’attuale struttura fu costruita a partire dal 1787 e fu parte fondamentale delle difese danesi durante la battaglia di Copenaghen del 1801 e l’attacco britannico del 1807. Tra il 1818 e il 1828, e successivamente nel 1860, il forte venne ampliato, ma la sua importanza strategica diminuì dopo la Prima Guerra Mondiale. Nel 1934 Trekroner fu venduto ai servizi portuali di Copenaghen. Durante l’occupazione nazista della Danimarca (1940–1945), la fortezza fu usata dai tedeschi come caserma. Dopo la guerra servì per un periodo come prigione per ufficiali tedeschi e per l’ex ambasciatore tedesco. Successivamente rimase in stato di abbandono fino al 1984, quando fu aperto al pubblico. Trekroner è una delle tre isole artificiali costruite per proteggere il porto di Copenaghen, insieme a Middelgrundsfortet e Flakfortet, e rappresenta oggi una significativa testimonianza della storia militare danese.
