I had never had Nigerian Food prior to stopping at De Splendours for a bite to eat. After this experience, I'll be looking for it any chance I get! Since I didn't know what would be satisfying, I asked the owner to choose what he would feel like eating that night. He brought me a plate of Jollof Rice, plantain chips, and chicken with a spicy batter. It was heavenly. Each of the pieces of the dish complemented each other well -- chicken heat, salty rice, and sweet plantain. The chicken's spice level was especially welcome since I had just arrived from the Czech Republic which doesn't have a culture of hot and spicy foods. De Splendiours is a definite recommendation from me!
