About

Church Santa Cruz in Cádiz is a captivating blend of history and artistry, standing as a testament to eight centuries of religious and architectural evolution. Built in 1263 by Alfonso X the Wise on the site of a former Muslim Mosque, this historical church gracefully showcases its ancient roots through columns and arches that evoke a forest-like serenity. The visually stunning imagery and iconography inside offer a feast for the eyes, enhanced by waxwork-like religious images and gilt ornamentation that give an imposing and spectacular air to the interior. While smaller in size than its nearby Cathedral counterpart, the Church Santa Cruz boasts an exterior and interior of equal beauty, with free entry inviting all to experience its rich atmosphere of devotion and artistry.

Curiosa parroquia con columnas de estilo moruno, un altar interesante y buenas figuras manieristas en capillas y pasos. Fue la antigua mezquita. Tiene un encanto propio que hace que merezca la pena la visita.
