Das Restaurant Oriental Soup House ist stilvoll eingerichtet und wirkt auf den ersten Blick sehr einladend. Die Atmosphäre verspricht eine besondere kulinarische Erfahrung. Leider war mein Besuch von einer eher reservierten Bedienung begleitet. Ein Lächeln oder ein Moment echter Aufmerksamkeit hätte den Aufenthalt deutlich angenehmer gemacht. Bisauf den Mitarbeiter an der Kasse war die Haltung distanziert – fast, als müsse man sich den Platz in diesem schönen Ambiente erst verdienen. Schade, denn echte Gastfreundschaft lebt nicht nur von der Einrichtung, sondern auch vom menschlichen Miteinander. Was das Essen betrifft: Die Suppe war für meinen Geschmack sehr salzig. Erst beim Bezahlen erfuhr ich, dass Glutamat verwendet wird – was ich bei meiner Bestellung nicht bemerkt hatte. Die Zutaten sind zwar durch kleine Zahlen auf der Karte gekennzeichnet – mein Fehler war, das nicht genauer zu beachten. Ich war einfach nicht davon ausgegangen, dass in einem Restaurant dieser Kategorie Glutamat zum Einsatz kommt – was aber vermutlich gängige Praxis ist. Insgesamt: ein schöner Ort mit Potenzial – stilvoll, aber mit Luft nach oben, was Herzlichkeit und Transparenz angeht.
