About

The Petit Sablon Garden appeared in Brussels at the end of the nineteenth century, marking the expansion of the Belgian capital's boundaries. Since then, the garden has been particularly popular among tourists and locals looking for a secluded place to relax away from the noise and hustle.

Petit Sablon is designed in the traditional style of perfect symmetry typical for that era. Neatly trimmed hedges, Gothic columns, and all 48 concise statues carry a symbolic character and are associated with the long history of Brussels. At the very center of the garden, there is a functioning fountain with monuments to the executed Protestants - Egmont and Horn.
