Kleinere und grössere Bertiz-Filialen findet man in Bilbao an jeder Ecke und oft mehrere an einer Strasse. Es ist leider gar nicht so einfach, noch ältere, typische und inhabergeführte Kaffees (und auch Bäckereien) zu finden, Bertiz vertreibt alle. Es dauerte eine Weile, bis wir das während unserem 4-tägigen Aufenthalt in Bilbao gemerkt haben. Die Backwaren bei Bertiz sind den ganzen Tag über immer frisch, da die Backlinge immerzu in den Filialen aufgebacken werden. Das Brot ist dementsprechend flau, die Kruste zerbröselt und für echte Brotliebhaber ein no-go! Der Kaffee (Espresso) für unseren Geschmack extrem zu sauer. Die Patisserie ist OK, mehr aber nicht (meine Empfehlung: die Käsekuchen aus einem der Bassk-Shops). Meine drei Sterne gilt insbesondere der Kritik der unsympathischen Verdrängung traditioneller Kaffees. Wir haben auch nur hier in dieser Filiale einen Espresso getrunken, weil unser Lieblingskaffee ganz in der Nähe am Montagmorgen geschlossen hatte und unsere ganztägige Führung um 8:30 startete. Bertiz kann es sich leisten, jeden Tag von 8 Uhr bis Spätabends geöffnet zu haben.
