About

The Amsterdam Zoo Artis was founded in 1838 and is the oldest zoo in Europe. It may not be the largest in terms of area, but it houses over 6,000 animals of 700 different species, among which are many rare and endangered ones. The zoo's premises also feature the second-largest aquarium in Europe by the number of fish, a terrarium, and several museums of flora and fauna of the Netherlands. This place will definitely appeal to both children and adults, who will have a great time and get lots of impressions from interacting with the animals.

Can go see flamingos without going into the zoo. Lovely place to sit and relax looking at them!
