La mairie est installée dans un beau palais baroque du XVIIIe siècle, construit entre 1699 et 1780. La façade principale mesure 49 mètres de large et est encadrée de deux tours jumelles. Juste à côté de la porte, vous pouvez également voir un buste de Cervantes, à qui la ville rend honneur pour les trois centenaires de la publication de Don Quichotte. N’hésitez pas à pénétrer à l’intérieur. Vous découvrirez, sur le pilier au pied de l’escalier principal, la cota zero, c’est-à-dire le niveau zéro. C’est le point de référence à partir duquel sont mesurées toutes les hauteurs au-dessus du niveau de la mer d’Espagne !
