El nuevo teatro de Würzburg (Mainfranken Theater) abrió en diciembre de 2023 con un moderno edificio de cristal que alberga una sala pequeña para 330 personas y otra de ensayo para espectáculos más íntimos. Forma parte de una gran renovación que terminará en 2026/27 y que convertirá al teatro en Staatstheater de Baviera. Una anécdota curiosa es que, mientras duraban las obras, la compañía tuvo que “mudarse” por toda la ciudad: representaron óperas en una vieja nave industrial, conciertos en una iglesia y hasta obras de teatro en la sala del ayuntamiento. Los vecinos recuerdan aquellos años como un “festival ambulante” que llevó la cultura a rincones inesperados de Würzburg.

Das Theater ist noch im Umbau begriffen, das muß man berücksichtigen. War gestern in der Kammeroper "Weiße Rose". Eine anspruchsvolle Aufführung, die unter die Haut ging. Diesmal mit anschließendem Podiumsgespräch.
