About

The foundation year of the Warsaw Zoo is considered to be 1928. At that time, it was home to over 500 animals, but over time their number increased to 4,000. It also houses quite rare animals that are not found anywhere else! The area of the zoo is about 40 hectares, which includes the neighboring parks.

In addition to rare animals, the zoo has about 45 species of snakes. It's worth noting that there is a rehabilitation center for wild birds on the premises and a facility where you can watch birds flying freely amongst the greenery! At the beginning of the 2000s, a modern pavilion was opened, which is now home to gorillas and chimpanzees. In the winter, scientific exhibitions are held in the old building.
