Hook Fish was at the top of my San Francisco food list, and it absolutely lived up to the hype—we ended up going twice in 48 hours! The fish and chips were perfect, the fish sandwich was next-level, and the fish tacos? Unreal. We also grabbed the chips and guac, which were simple but insanely fresh, and I’m still thinking about their French fries! The staff was super friendly, and the whole vibe just feels like pure coastal California with a little San Francisco twist. You might have to wait for a table or eat along the perimeter outside, but trust me—it’s worth it. When I say fresh, I mean fresh… we literally walked up as someone was unloading fish straight out of a pickup. Couldn’t recommend this place more! If you miss this place, you’ll regret it.

be ready for a wait and limited outdoor seating if you're coming during primetime hours. fish and chips were incredible. batter isn't too heavy or oily and the fish itself is moist with a good fish flavor (rockfish is default I think). wish I had more like 2 more pieces of fish on top of the 3 that came with the order though. Will for sure come back even though portion is slightly smaller than I prefer
