About

The Pomnik Flisaka is a charming attraction nestled in the western part of the Old Town Square in Toruń. This beautiful fountain features a bronze statue of a raftsman, gracefully perched atop a sandstone pedestal and well, sculpted by Georg Wolf in 1914. Eight brass frogs surround the fountain, each playfully spitting water. According to a beloved local legend, the raftsman once used his violin to lead the frogs out of the city, and it's said that rubbing the back of one of these frogs brings luck in love. Popular among school trips and tourists, Pomnik Flisaka offers an enchanting experience, fully accessible and welcoming to everyone. The entire project was generously funded by Toruń's wealthy citizens, making it a testament to community spirit and local folklore. With an impressive 4.7 rating on Google, it's clear why this site remains a cherished part of Toruń's cultural landscape.
