About

The Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm is a captivating exploration of history housed in an exquisite 19th-century building designed by the renowned architect Isak Gustaf Clason. Originally constructed in 1898 as the residence of the distinguished Count and Countess Walther and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, the museum opened its doors to the public in 1938 following their generous donation of the estate and its contents. Visitors can meander through 40 beautifully preserved rooms spread over five floors, marveling at a stunning collection of over 50,000 objects that include art, antiques, weaponry, porcelain, and silver. The museum offers a charming blend of old-world elegance with intricate historical details. With its English-language explanations and audio guides, it provides an enriching experience for art and history enthusiasts. The Hallwyl Museum stands out as one of Stockholm's hidden gems, providing an intimate setting away from the usual tourist hustle, an experience made even more pleasant with its family-friendly environment and a very reasonable entrance fee of 12 euros.
