About

Right on University Square, there's a market known throughout Austria and beloved by the locals called Grunmarkt, which has been dubbed "The Green Market" for its huge selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, carefully grown by farmers. Since the eighteenth century, when the market was just beginning to gain its popularity and win over customers, little has changed. The bustling trade continues as before, with fatty fish still flapping their fins, and bread baked early in the morning giving off an amazing aroma. Besides the usual meat, cheese, and vegetables, the market also offers fresh flowers and craftsman's wares, which are perfect as souvenirs.

Der Markt ist leider kleiner als erwartet gewesen. Trotzdem sehr schön, im Herzen Salzburg.
