The interior of Gastlokal Fridrich is designed without any frills or pomp-just stone masonry whose age even the owner finds hard to determine, only dark tiled floors polished to a shine, and wooden furniture that's pleasantly comfortable to sit in while sipping wine and discussing the finer things. By the way, alongside the drink popular among Austrians and city visitors, they serve exceptional olives, appetizers, main courses, and the perpetual favorite, meat schnitzel, preliminarily roasted on a spit and stuffed with finely chopped garlic.

In a city where everything feels identical and mediocre, time stops here. You could easily spend hours on their small terrace just watching the day go by.
