I come here only for the cacio e pepe pasta, it’s great, but still overpriced (19 euros for pasta with just cheese and pepper is too much). The tables are close to each other, so it’s pretty loud and not intimate at all. Still, it’s a historic place worth visiting once you’re in Rome.

This place was recommended to us by a friend from Rome. Can’t say I was impressed. Food: The antipasti were not great. The polpettine (€15) was dry, tasteless and served with mashed potatoes. The Arancini (€4/pc) were lacking in taste and the rice was dry and hard. The Bufala (€12) was good but like the other dishes “there was no love in the dish”. Look at it. Two balls of moz on a plate with a leaf. The pastas were good but very heavy. They were a good amount and flavorful but mostly salty. We had the Gricia(€16), Cacio e Pepe(€19), Carbonara(€17), and Amatriciana(€16). The latter was the best. Service: There was an odd atmosphere among the staff. Not a nice one. Tasks were devided. One took our food order while another took our drink order. And in that order. When the wine came the cooler was then served by yet a third guy. You have to pay for bread (even if you don’t ask for any) but there is no copperto charge. Our appetizers were put on the table on top of other dishes and the plates that came with them were placed stacked on a corner of the table. “That’s the Italian way” exclaimed the “food” waiter. When the mozzarella was served he claimed loudly “they are fresh”! I replied well I hope so! (For that price I thought with it). Maine arrived while all the plates were still on the table! They asked if I wanted coffee and left before I could answer. Altogether not good service! Atmosphere: The inside restaurant was a good looking place and the outside terrace where we had our meal was cozy and well lit. It was in a covered piece of parking lot outside the restaurant like you see so much in Italy. I would give them 2,5 stars if it was possible. And recommend you find another authentic place in the vicinity to eat the 4 true Roman pasta dishes.
