One of those rare occasions. Rome, August and way to hot. So you just step inside a nice looking Bar with the sign "cocktails" and hope to cool down a bit and escape to sheer mass of tourists. My eyes got used to the dark inside, I took plce at the Bar and ordered a Negroni; and you could feel that the Barkeeper enjoyed a guest, who once in a while drinks a proper cocktail at the bar, not just asking the way to the lavatory. A couple of hours and drinks later - what can I say. The price is more than reasonable for Rome, the cocktails (yeah, didn't stop at one) were great and learned some new stuff on the way (frusaglie, thanks for that). And the Barkeeper surely knows his business. So - don't be shy. Absolutely everything in Rome is a tourist location, but this one is a gem for me. A la prossima!

Though we didn’t have any reservations, we did not have to wait to be seated. We arrived at around 10PM and was truly amazed how the staff greeted us with all smiles. While we were looking at the menu, a basket of bread was given and they really tasted good. Husband and I ordered carbonara but I requested pasta to be switched to spaghetti and they accomodated my request. For some reason I believe the cgef personally brought our food which we normally don’t get to experience but it was I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart as he said “it has been a ling time to see an order of carbonara with spaghetti”. I’m one of them haha. It was also a celebration of our wedding anniversary so it really felt special. I only rated atmosphere as 4 as we were assigned on a corner even if there were more seats in the middle (which I would have preferred but didn’t bother complain). Overall, we had a great time!
