I was looking forward to discovering the queer side of Riga but as a solo traveller, I went there alone around 10pm on a Sat night. The barman let me in after peering through the door. Riga doesn’t feel like a queer-friendly city at all, so I wasn’t surprised. The bar itself is decorated beautifully, where kitsch meets BDSM. Sadly I didn’t feel particularly welcome, clearly I was a lone tourist. So my advice is simple, if you see a lone tourist go and chat to them. You never know what stories they’ll bring and how large their network may be.

Nice club, good service but I wonder how much the DJ pays to ruin the music 😅

It’s a sizeable bar with different spaces and plenty of room. The owner is affable, and most (but not all) staff are efficient and friendly. I was well-impressed by the diverse crowd that the weekends seemed to encourage. The drag shows are sadly lame, but small criticism indeed of a great player in Riga’s nightlife.
