Grabbed a large surprise bag from Mazhil Turkish Restaurant in Edmonton through Too Good To Go for £4.99 and it was definitely worth it. There was fresh salad, fresh bread, and a generous portion kebab meat on top of white rice. The meat had a nice flavour and everything tasted fresh. I bought it just to give it a try and I’m really happy with what I got. Great value for the price and I’d happily get it again.

I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times since it opened, originally drawn in by the woman making fresh gozleme in the mornings—a truly inviting sight and one of the more authentic touches. The döner, when it’s freshly prepared, can be excellent—flavourful, juicy, and clearly superior to many local competitors. Unfortunately, that quality is inconsistent. On Too Good To Go, for example, you’re sometimes given cold, pre-packed portions that do the food no justice. I now only go for TGTG if I can get there early enough to ensure the food hasn’t been packed away in advance. I still can't believe they do that. The real letdown, though, is the service. The man behind the grill, who essentially acts as the face of the restaurant, greets—more accurately, confronts—every customer as they walk in. He handles most takeaway orders and is often the first and last point of contact. His consistently gruff and unapproachable demeanor sets an uncomfortable tone that lingers throughout the visit. When the person in that central role is so visibly disengaged, it inevitably affects the overall atmosphere. The rest of the staff are polite but disconnected. They lack the warmth, attentiveness, and basic customer service instinct needed to create a positive or memorable dining experience. The ambiance doesn’t do much to compensate either. Compared to nearby restaurants like Kervan or Capital, this place feels flat and uninviting. Frankly, it’s easy to see why the dining area is often empty or occupied by just a handful of people—the atmosphere and service simply don’t encourage anyone to stay. All things considered, I can only give this place three stars, and that’s purely on the strength of their döner when it’s done right. The quality of the food just manages to lift it above two—but the consistently poor service and lackluster vibe make it hard to recommend, and even harder to return with any enthusiasm.
