Honestly amazing food and the service is fab as well. The Biang Biang noodles were incredible !!

My first time here, I walked in 20 min before closing and was served warmly. It was still busy but food came out quickly. I saw the manager counting out the till so I offered to pay first but he said no, no rush, 慢慢食 (take your time eating). Honestly, uncommonly gracious for a Chinese restaurant (esp one staffed by the usually-brusque Cantonese!), and that impressed even more than the food. Had a terrible day today and stopped by for lunch. Two off-putting things: first, if you order dry noodles like their signature Biang Biang Mian, it’ll come with a fork and (Western) spoon in the bowl even though there are chopsticks on the table. I ordered dumplings too and the biangbiang mian are quite saucy, so I asked for a tang chi, the Chinese soup spoon. According to the waitress, those are reserved only for those who order soup noodles. So you’re left eating with the awkward combination of chopsticks and metal spoon. At 2.20pm, with half a bottle of coke left, and a half empty dining room, the same waitress gave me the bill unprompted. I’m used to this in Chinese restaurants when it’s busy and there are people waiting for the table, but this wasn’t the case. I even enquired if they close for a break before dinner — they don’t. This left an incredible sour taste and was such a contrast to the service on my first visit. If you’re getting dumplings, order the pork wontons in chilli sauce rather than the boiled dumplings which taste one step above frozen. The waiters generally run an efficient shop and the food is fine but nothing to shout about. Pop in if there’s no queue but I wouldn’t bother waiting. If you’re in the area and want Xi’an food, theres also Murger Han and 1+1 Rougamo.

Fantastic flavours of Western China and really filling portions. You won’t be going to McDonalds to top up after your meal.
