Average caffe nero. Nothing remarkable about it. Service was fine, croissant was decent.

To the Management of the Caffe NERO and All Readers of This Letter With respect, Today, an incident occurred in your café that caused me severe fear, distress, and harm to my dogs. I am a regular customer of this establishment and always come here with my dogs. One of my dogs suffers from a serious leg condition, and for his comfort, I had placed a chair next to me for him to rest on. A few minutes after my arrival, an unknown man approached me in an insulting and aggressive tone and loudly said: “Take this damn dog away and give me the chair!” I calmly explained that my dog was ill and that the chair was for him, but the man shook the chair violently three times. The fourth time, he returned accompanied by one of your staff members. Before I could finish explaining, he suddenly and violently pulled the chair out from under my dog, throwing my dog to the floor and injuring my hand. In that moment, I repeatedly asked your staff member to call the police, as I feared the man might attack us again. Unfortunately, the staff member’s response was: “I am not your mother to be spoken to like that!” Hearing this, while I was already deeply frightened, was both shocking and highly unprofessional. Eventually, with the intervention of two German women who were present and witnessed the incident, your staff member finally contacted the police. As an apology, I was offered two coffee gift cards, which I refused, because this was not merely a small incident. This was about safety, respect, and the right to use a chair that was in my possession. It makes no difference whether that chair was occupied by my friend or my sick dog — in any case, it was taken without justification. The man’s request was baseless and intrusive, and the staff member’s cooperation in facilitating it was entirely wrong and inhumane. I expect your staff member to provide the police with a truthful and complete account of the events — from the insults and attack by that man, to my dog being thrown to the ground, and my injury. Should they misrepresent the facts or attempt to downplay the incident, I will have no choice but to file an official complaint against them and your café. Such conduct is not only contrary to ethical and human principles, but it also endangers the safety of your customers. I will not forget this incident, and I hope your management will take serious measures to prevent such events in the future — especially as there were no security cameras on site to record this act of violence, but there were people with a conscience who described the assault to the police.
