After a little morning/early afternoon adventure, my 5-month-old pup and I needed a break, so we wandered into Roberts Café in Tripla. I checked that lunch was still on (it was!) and went for the baked potato—sounded like a winner. Right away, the customer service stood out—not forced, not over-the-top, just genuine kindness. The kind where you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The lovely ladies behind the counter mentioned that coffee or tea was included with lunch and that I could grab it after eating—again, not a groundbreaking concept, but the way they said it made it feel like a friendly gesture, not a transaction. Then, one of them asked if my pup would like some water and even brought over a little bowl just for him. Love that! (He had his own packed lunch, so he was all set.) After finishing my meal, I grabbed my tea—highly recommend their Earl Grey, by the way—and just when I thought things couldn’t get better, one of the ladies casually mentioned that ice cream was included too. Um, yes, please! I asked which flavor was her favorite, and she suggested lemon meringue. Now, I would never have picked that myself, but wow—new favorite unlocked. (Note to self: ask for recommendations more often.) As my pup and I sat there, people-watching and enjoying our no-rush afternoon, another staff member popped by just to say hi to him. No reason, no agenda—just pure friendliness. And that sums up the whole experience: nothing flashy, nothing over-the-top, just a warm, welcoming place that feels like visiting a good friend. Huge thanks to the wonderful team—we’ll absolutely be back!
