We have been dining at Frankie's and Benny's Nantgarw for as long as I can remember. The food is always great. The cleanliness of the restaurant is fine. But there are less servers every time we go nowadays. The place was super busy at mid-day, with 2 servers for booking people in, cleaning tables, taking orders and serving food. Another young lady was dealing with drinks. All in all, I felt sorry for the staff who were literally run off their feet. Add to that the fact that special discount deals had been posted on line with either 'kids eat free' or 'Exclusive 40%' off, and it's the end of the school holidays. If the chain is going to offer discount deals, then they need to ensure there are sufficient staff to deal with the extra customers.

We booked a table here as a little “send-off” meal for our son and met him and his auntie after a day at the cricket in Cardiff. It’s a bit of a walk from the train, but that’s hardly the restaurant’s fault. On arrival we were a bit early, so we grabbed a drink at the bar and were served by Aisha, who was really friendly and welcoming. I assumed she was just behind the bar, but she also looked after us at the table, taking extra drinks orders and making sure everything ran smoothly. One of our requests (a pizza made calzone-style) initially caused some confusion with the other waiter, but Aisha understood right away and the chefs kindly made it happen. Even when she said another server would be taking over, she still kept an eye on our table and even brought our food from the pass so it didn’t sit waiting. She really went above and beyond, and thanks to her attentiveness the whole evening felt relaxed and enjoyable, exactly what we wanted. Big thanks to Aisha and the team for making it such a nice night.
