Great village venue following a strenuous walk. Lovely setting, fish and chips superb washed down with local oxford gold ale. Dog friendly and water on hand for my very tired dog. Staff very accommodating and polite. Would recommend

Visited during a stay in a nearby hotel, was really quiet on a Thursday evening but food and service was good. We both had the set menu which was pretty good value at £19 for 2 courses. Both had burger & chips. Some people may find the chips to be slightly over cooked but we didn't mind as like them crispy. The crumble was delicious, not overly sweet as they sometimes are.

Incredible food. The beef was slightly overcooked, but that was fine for me. I got the 3 course lunch meal. The soup was probably the best I've had, the steak amazing, the chips were melt in your mouth, and the chocolate pudding was SO FILLING (it was a bit cold bc chef forgot to give me it but who cares it was sooooo tasty. The service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect, a few people talking with each other and little smoking. I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone in Wolvercote. For £20, you for sure get your money's worth.
