Dense espresso and stylish, simple interior design. 3.3 pounds for an espresso is a bit expensive though.

New Ground Coffee in Oxford is a lovely spot with a clean, minimalist setup and really nice seating, although it isn’t a huge space. The atmosphere feels modern and well thought out. The coffee itself was excellent – the flat whites were perfect in flavour and texture, served in beautiful ceramic cups (which I know aren’t cheap!). Personally, I think they were closer to 5oz rather than 6oz, and I’d prefer the slightly larger size. At nearly £4 per flat white, it does feel on the higher end – if they were pitched around £3.30–£3.40, this would easily become my go-to café. Service-wise, the ladies working there were warm and friendly. The one male staff member, however, came across with a bit of an ignorant vibe and could definitely work on self-awareness – a friendlier approach and a simple smile would go a long way in a small, intimate café setting like this. Overall, though, the quality of the coffee makes it worth visiting. For me, it’s a spot I’d happily come back to every so often for a treat.
