Very disappointing meal ... battered fish was all batter, poached egg was hard boiled, asparagus burnt. The fox feels dirty and needs a complete spring clean and refurb. The glasses were filthy and the service patchy.

We visited on a busy Thursday night for a family meal. The staff were very busy being a bit short staffed on the night, but consistently friendly, pleasant and helpful. There was an issue with a starter and the chef came personally to explain (very nice touch). The substitution starter of wild mushrooms on toast was amazing! A happy switch. The meals were perfectly prepared, delicious and hot on arrival. Portions are very generous. We had a lovely time and enjoyed every bit of it. It’s wonderful to see this beautiful pub so lively and well run.

A quiet Monday lunch with family and friends. Server was really polite and very nice. Food took about an hour to come out but the quantity and quality was excellent. Maybe a few more chunky chips per plate....? Overall, really enjoyed our lunch. Thank you
