Einer der bekanntesten Henker von Süddeutschland, Franz Schmidt, hat hier viele Jahre mit seiner Familie gelebt. Seine ehemalige Dienstwohnung kann man besichtigen. Empfehlenswert ist auch sein Tagebuch , das man im Buchhandel erwerben kann.
