One of Nice's oldest city squares that was initially dedicated to the King of Sardinia but later renamed in honour of the most famous person born in Nice - Giuseppe Garibaldi. At a glance the Garibaldi statue is difficult to sight properly from the different approaching streets. I read somewhere that it was moved from its original place for renovations. Lots of cafes to hang out, lots of shady areas to sit down and do people-watching. The Old Nice area is just behind this square while the Cemetery at the Castle Hill is 10 mins by walk. Just like me, you can take also the bus to Musée Matisse.
