I visited Esplanade Georges Pompidou in Nice and found it to be a peaceful spot by the sea. The standout feature is the “Neuf Lignes Obliques” sculpture by Bernar Venet, installed in 2010 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Nice’s annexation to France. The sculpture’s nine inclined steel beams create a striking visual against the Mediterranean backdrop. The esplanade is a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the coastal views.
