The waiters/owner were lovely, helping me choose what to order and giving me tips about my upcoming visit to Florence. It originally felt like a place that prioritises your experience rather than how much you spend. It was a rather chilled pace service, so if you’re in a rush I’d recommend mentioning it to them before you order. There were crisps with the apéro, and bread with the meal, and it’s the first time I’ve been able to eat a dish with capers in it in years. However was not possible to order an after-meal coffee at 8pm as they’d already cleaned the coffee machine. Lost a star because they seemed to have overcharged me and didn’t provide a detailed receipt. I ordered 2 spritz (€16) the chicken steak (€18), did not get any water, and there was a service charge per head of €3, so it should’ve been €37, but I was charged €41, and I felt too uncomfortable to ask where the €4 had come from. The service did deserve a tip, so between the head charge (which seems custom in Italy), the mystery €4, and a 10% tip, I was sadly out over €10 on top of my meal…
