About

In the bustling city of Napoli, the Fountain of Neptune graces Piazza Municipio with its intricate design and historical significance. Established in 1600, this fountain was crafted during the late 16th century under the guidance of Enrico di Guzmán and brought to life by the talented artists Michelangelo Naccherino, Angelo Landi, and Pietro Bernini. The central figure of Neptune, majestically holding his trident, commands attention while surrounded by dynamic tritons and sea creatures, enhancing the maritime theme.

Water elegantly flows through finely carved marble basins, adorned with elaborate maritime motifs, symbolizing Naples' longstanding connection to the sea and its maritime prowess. This masterpiece not only reflects the artistic grandeur of the late Renaissance and Baroque periods but also serves as a cherished attraction suitable for families and pet owners alike. Situated conveniently in front of the Palazzo San Giacomo, the Fountain of Neptune invites visitors to explore its beauty and historical depth while experiencing one of Napoli's remarkable artistic achievements.
