I've never been a tequila drinker, so I wasn't sure that I would enjoy this. But it ended up being my favorite part of my trip to Mexico. Sofia and Mateo are incredibly knowledgeable, and they're excellent teachers and engaging storytellers. They exposed us to some wonderfully complex and delicious spirits, and entertained with vignettes about different small producers. We enjoyed it so much, we came back the next day for more.

We had an incredible experience at Salon de Agave! We learned so much about the history and the craft of agave spirits, and we tasted complex flavors we’ve never experienced before. We also came with our friend who was born and raised in Mexico, and said he left with a new perspective of his own culture. Matteo and Sofia were clearly passionate about what they do, and they did a great job of giving the small distilleries and farmers the credit they deserve. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone visiting CDMX or any locals looking to learn something new, we will 100% be back!!
