About

The Basílica De San José Y Nuestra Señora Del Sagrado Corazón is a remarkable landmark in Mexico City's Colonia Centro. As a minor basilica, officially recognized by Pope John Paul II in 1993, it stands out both for its historical significance and serene atmosphere. Dating back further than the Iglesia del Buen Tono, this basilica is thought to have originally served as a place of worship for the indigenous inhabitants of the area. Recently undergoing a complete renovation, it blends historical charm with modern upkeep. Visitors often find solace within its walls, making it a peaceful retreat in the bustling city. Rated highly by visitors, the basilica continues to inspire awe with its spiritual and architectural beauty.
