Auf der Führung ‘Culinary Backstreets Marseille’ kamen wir am L’Atelier des Saveurs (Boulangerie/Pâtisserie) in der Rue de la Grande Armée vorbei. Das äussere Erscheinungsbild des Geschäfts sowie des gesamten Gebäudes wirkten wenig einladend, ebenso das gegenüberliegende Produktionslokal. Natürlich trägt die aufgerissene Strasse nicht gerade zum Charme der Umgebung bei. Auch das nicht sehr gepflegte Innere des Geschäfts mit den eher nachlässig arrangierten Vitrinen und der leicht unfreundlichen Verkäuferin hinterliess keinen besonders einladenden Eindruck. Dabei sollen hier die besten Croissants Frankreichs produziert werden – und tatsächlich waren sie gut. Allerdings schmeckten mir die Croissants aus unserer Frühstücks-Bäckerei doch noch besser. Vielleicht beeinflusst das Ambiente die Geschmackswahrnehmung mehr, als man denkt.
