About

Discover the delightful Wong Wong Bakery in Manchester, where breakfast enthusiasts and pastry lovers alike find a sweet retreat. With a wallet-friendly price of just 5 GBP per person, this spot achieves a solid 4.3 rating on Google, thanks to its delectable array of offerings. Renowned for its Chinese pastries, the bakery's highlight is the irresistibly good mango cake, celebrated for its freshness and fluffiness.

A treasure trove for both sweet and savory palates, Wong Wong Bakery uses unique ingredients like lotus bean, black bean, pineapple buttercream, and taro whipped cream, creating a variety of flavors that surprise and satisfy. The helpful staff is particularly attentive when you're buying in bulk, ensuring a pleasant experience.

However, a few quirks are worth noting: it's a cash-only establishment with limited options for vegetarians, and some pastries have names that might mislead, like a pineapple bun without actual pineapple. Additionally, patrons suggest having more secure spaces for bags and expanding their website to showcase all the available pastries, not just cakes. Despite these minor issues, Wong Wong Bakery offers a charming start to your day with a comforting cup of coffee and delightful pastries.

Best bakery in Manchester. For the last four years, every birthday/celebration cake we’ve gotten has been from here. The frosting is very light and the cake is airy and moist.

Bad experience here. Very unfriendly and cold service. You can only pay by cash or UK bank transfer. You cannot pay by phone or with a card. I wonder why? Our check-out bill was £41.20. I had two £20s and one £1 and one £10 (notes) - We were foreign visitors and going directly to the airport after this shop. I asked the checkout lady was £41 OK (thinking she would let me off the £0.20). No - she insisted on getting the £0.20 leaving me with a pocket full of English change that I might never use. Unfriendly, greedy and cold.

Good bakery with many choices, my only negative review is they just accept cash and I never carry cash on me
