About

The Las Ventas Arena is a kind of Mecca for fans of the bloody bullfight from all around the world. Access is only available on show days, which usually draw thousands of enthusiastic spectators.

Near the arena is a museum open to the public, dedicated to bullfighters, bulls, and weapons. The square is also adorned with a famous monument to the English scientist Fleming, who once discovered penicillin, thereby saving many bullfighters from blood infections. Here, you can also see a majestic sculpture of a famous bullfighter who, after yet another successful "round" with a bull, was unexpectedly gored by the latter.
