Atocha Train Station in Madrid
About
Atocha Railway Station is hardly a typical place where trains arrive daily and people crowd the platforms. Underneath its massive glass-and-metal roof, you'll find restaurants, luxury boutiques, and even a nightclub.
Surprisingly, besides the standard tourist infrastructure that any city or area would have, Atocha Station also hosts a large botanical garden complete with a whole brood of turtles. These turtles are often found under the feet of tourists and locals, as they consider the entire building their home where they are the rightful rulers. Additionally, the station frequently hosts concerts and performances, as well as gatherings of fortune tellers who, for a price, will predict your future and destiny by reading the lines on your palm.
