About

The "Magnus" shopping complex was built in 1912-1913 based on the design by Roman Felinski. Back then, it was called "Małopolski Zakład Odzieży." Many Lviv merchants rented retail spaces here. After World War II, the building was utilized by various enterprises and organizations: from laundries to the State Bank of the Shevchenko district. In 1960, "Magnus" became the new main department store (ЦУМ) of Lviv. By the year 2000, the shopping complex had lost its former glory, however, it caught the interest of the Polish businessman Jerzy Konik. He undertook the restoration of the ancient complex, and by 2004, the renovated "Magnus," which retained the spirit of the 20th century, was reopened. From a cozy café on the top floor of the shopping center, one can enjoy the picturesque view of Lviv.
