Was looking forward to trying XI but as described in other reviews, the overall experience was as you’d expect from an impersonal and transactional chain , whilst the food edible but not enough to convince me to rush back, and shocking value to boot. Can you imagine paying £15 for a plate of beans or £7 for a single pancake? The 1kg dumpling challenge seems to be quite the draw (2 did it while we were there) but i wasn’t convinced to feel bloated on stodge, so opted for the dandan noodles instead, as you can see from the photo. Worth a visit once, but think i prefer Din Tai Fung, even if equally pricey.
