This the the best place in North London to get salt beef. Cooked on the premises throughout the day so it's really fresh and succulent. Very generous portion and such good value for money. Run by a serious staff who are efficient and do a roaring trade. Excellent!

I have been a regular here for decades but recently less and less as I just find it a bit dated and I feel bad energy when im in there. Also I feel the salt beef is not as good as it used to be, but still once in a while I went in there. Then a few weeks ago I decided to buy some salt beef by weight and it is just pure beef. This was the first time i bought it by weight and not in a sandwich . To my astonishment he sliced the hot wet meat and put it in the paper he uses to wrap the sandwiches in. By the time I got home to eat it all the juice had gone into paper and it was just so vile to open. It basically went dry very quickly and I could taste paper in the meat. I'm thinking I just paid good money for this. It was something like £14. Would it have killed him to put the damn meat in a plastic container? It would have cost him 5 pence. I really shouldn't have to say this. Its very obvious that you don't wrap wet hot food in paper. I really wonder how many customers they lost by this Way of doing things. The end P.s. please find your passion again and..... Make Salt Beef Great Again. MSBGA

Exceptional!! I have been visiting The salt beef bar for many years. I used to work in the area many many years ago although I have moved long time ago I still visit on weekends. We always get a takeaway then picnic in Golders Hill Park or by Kenwood House. What is my favourite dish??? I don't know where to start. But the knedlach soup reminds me of dinner at grandma's. Salt beef is done to perfection. They know exactly what they are doing. I cannot fault anything. But I can highly recommend it. Best salt beef and soups this side of town!!! Thanks for keeping it going. I will be back soon!!!
