Unfortunately my visit to the Duck Shed didn’t live up to expectations. Duck is one of my favourite meats, with its rich, succulent and slightly gamey flavour, so I arrived with high hopes. I chose the French style wrap, having been told it offered “more duck for your buck,” with a side of duck fat chips. The wrap was generously filled, but it lacked depth of flavour, and the wrap’s texture didn’t really complement the French style filling. I left feeling it would probably have worked better as a burger. The chips, however, were excellent, and the riverside location on the busy Waterloo embankment is a real plus. All in all, a bit of a disappointment and I left without finishing the wrap — I’ll be sticking to the French duck in a tin (aka confit du canard), which consistently delivers in the comfort of your own home.

This isn’t the location we went to, but the food was bomb! We went to the Tower Bridge location. Several differing types of duck: French, Vietnamese, etc. Order it as a burger, wrap, salad, or bowl. The duck was sweet and savory a perfect balance. The Vietnamese wrap was what we selected. I would order it again. It was great for a quick bite while sitting on a park bench, taking in the sites.

Stopped by The Duck Shed and went for The French Duck wrap. The slow roasted pulled duck was packed with flavour and came with a generous amount of meat, making it really satisfying. The guy serving was friendly and quick, which made the visit even better. There is plenty of space to choose where to sit and enjoy your food. I would happily come back next time I am in the area.
