Singburi #2. The food was really good, with great service and a good atmosphere. It is very different to Singburi #1, but this is still right up there with the best Thai in London. We will definitely be coming back.

I have never been to the original Singburi and I wasn’t expecting a mom’s and pops place when I visited the new E1 location. However I felt like the new Singburi was a cookie cutter version of a modern trendy restaurant. Slightly bored but cool looking staff, terrazzo surfaces, minimalist lighting, and small plates. In contrast, each dish we had was unique and full of flavour - the menu changes every so often so there’s plenty to come back for. The lamb riblets are fatty and rich in flavour, the aubergine was super savoury and the right level of spice, and the curry was well balanced. There are still echoes and whispers of the old Singburi, but that’s long gone - and I was hoping for some more authenticity in this new setting. Perhaps that will come with time.

Sadly nothing on the original - don’t even compare them Portions small and pricey Decor was dead - place felt like it had been built for any restaurant to move in. Such a weird place to go and eat. Insanely fast - we were in and out in 30 mins, felt like cattle, we do eat fast tbf. Aubergine dish was incredible, rest we ate was pretty average Just a really disappointing meal out :(
